Our Art Morning

The whole school took part in an art morning, where the focus was on printing. Beech class made some super designs focusing on our weather topic out of string, then used these to create some lovely prints.

Red nose day

Last Friday was red nose day. Unfortunately Mrs Thorpe did not see us in our super hero costumes, but we took lots of pictures to show her how fabulous we all looked!

Our Maths week

Last week Beech class spent their maths lessons, completing a range of outdoor activities that focused on measuring. The activities included 'George's marvelous measures', making rain gauges and foraging for items to measure and order.Although it was very cold, it was fun and we learned a lot of new skills!

Our design and technology project

This week we have been designing and making a healthy sandwich snack. We started by tasting a range of shop bought sandwiches and evaluating what we liked and didn't like about them. Mrs Thorpe then brought lots of different breads and spreads for us to try. There was pate, salmon paste, cheese and pepper spread, egg mayonnaise, humous and blueberry jam! We got to pick whether we spread them on wraps, pitta bread, onion bagels or warmed ciabatta! (some of us were not very keen on trying new flavours - although lots of us found we really enjoyed humous!)After all these tasting sessions we got to decide what filling we wanted to use to make our own sandwich.....
